Hello!
A friend of mine is looking for maps and hints for good biking and hiking possibilities around Barbate. Do you know any map, book or internet page for suggestions, please let me know! Thank you very much in advance! Christian. |

"De la Breña y Marismas del Barbate"
have often wanted to spend time to explore this natural park. The pine forests are impressive and it's possible to traverse through these from Barbate to Los Canos and Cape Trafalgar with stunning views of the Atlantic. http://www.andalucia.com/environment/protect/barbate-walks.htm

The Andalucian state appears to have an office in San Fernando that 'controls' this natural park and may be able to help but you need to have some Spanish. On the Junta's website you have some details:
http://www.juntadeandalucia.es/medioambiente/ for example this page gives details of a bike ride lasting 4 hours based at Barbate: http://tinyurl.com/e86g5 and this one for a walk in the 'marismas': http://tinyurl.com/h7m6t

While we were in Zahara de los atunes (part of Barbate) last weekend, we learn that the girl at the tourist office does day hiling tours around the natural areas, I am not sure how much it was, but I think not too expensive.
Not sure if this is of help! Carmen
