I'm travelling from Colombo to Anuradhapura in October. Could someone tell me about train times. Also in a 2 week stay hoping to also include Kandy, the elephant orphanage, Nuwara Eliya and some beach days, how long would be a good time to spend in Anuradhapura

There are trains in the morning and in the afternoon. Please check this site http://www.atsrilanka.com/trains.htm You can select the destinations such as vavunia trincomalee which goes via Anuradhapura. have a nice time chaminda
