Bundesland Burgenland Sehenwertes in Burgenland
Posted: Fri June 23, 2006 10:07 AM UTC
Danke!

I am travelling from Hungary to Vienna for 4 days in July. I have already been in Vienna a lot and also in Niederösterreich. I just wanted to know if there was anything special to do in Burgenland for 1-2 days. Thanks.

Answering in both languages as well. :)

Ja.

Yes. The Neusiedler Lake is a really special sight in Burgenland. If you have some more time you might want to visit the capital city of Burgenland, Eisenstadt. I haven't been to Eisenstadt myself though.

Neusiedler See is surely Burgenland's top sight.

But if you are intrested in hot springs go to the South, there are the big ressorts, for instance in Bad Tatzmannsdorf and Stegersbach. A trip to Burgenland's South offers also some castle, especially the one's in Güssing, Schlaining and Rotenturm are worth to visit. If you are intrested in culture, you could also visit the "Güssinger Burgspiele" at the Güssing-castle or one of the rock festivals, which are organized in the region.

Finally Burgenland (North and South) is famous for it's wines, so do not miss a visit in a wine cellar.
