I happen to have checked this myself (I'm going therefor 5 months)
The biggest cost is the rent for rooms and houses. Rooms vary from 150- 300 Euro p/month Groceries are not expensive and for eating outside, you can get a complete meal for 5 Euro's in at restaurant. Going by taxi 2/3 Euro (inside Paramaribo) I think you'll need at least 300 Euro's per month to 'survive'. Cheap rooms you can find at www.casacama.com Hope you can manage to go!

Suriname is very reasonable, food, transportation and accommodation and many will help you get sorted to find even cheaper places. I know some people there
good luck; its a lovely and peaceful country.
