The Ibis is 6 km from the city centre. I don't know how much a taxi would cost, I imagine if you phone the hotel and ask they will be able to suggest a price, or see http://www.taxipadova.com/.

it is 7 km from the city ... quite far indeed from the beauty of the city, it is located at the Industrial Area - East Padua. You can catch Bus 7 that runs from 6.30am to 8.00pm daily - saturday to 5.40pm? not on Sunday. Taxi price from 5 to 10+ Euro depending from rush hours or night ect...
Trains goes to Venice very often (20/40 min)... Almost 4 Euro one way... but you can go by bus and have a beautiful trip along the Riviera del Brenta (road that runs along the river Brenta) with its beautiful villas, it will take more then an hour but it is worth and you will see the local life.
ciao
