Chengdu Travel Forum

I am planning to go to Chengdu in Sep and to visit surrounding places Jiuzhaigou and Mt Siguniang and then later to go Tibet. For Tibet, I read that I have to book a tour.

Is it easy to book transportation and hotels for Jiuzhaigou, Huanglong and Mt Siguniang or can I book a tour from Chengdu. If so,any recommendations for tour agencies in Chengdu

U can booked it over there, there are alot of agencies for u to pick or do it from the hotel counter.For Hualong n Jiuzhaigou ,u can even take a bus there if u have the time to spare .Check my page on transportation to Juizhaigou.

YOur hotel should be able to sign you up with a tour group. We went to JZG with tour group A (using their transportation, so in case anything happens, the tour agency is responsible to rescue you vs. if you go by yourself taking long distance bus and if something happens on the road - the drivers on that road are crazy). The roads go through villages, countryside, the scenes are beautiful.

We spent three days at the park and came back with tour group B, including a few hours at Huang long. The usual package is a 4-day tour, one day bus journey from Chengdu to JZG, one day in JZG, then a few hours in Huanglong, half day shopping junk, the last day VERY SLOWLY back to Chengdu - not an efficient way to use time. You can also now fly from Chengdu to JZG, then take a local minibus to Huanglong, then fly back.
