Has anyone here attended the Uni in Darwin? The wife and I are thinking about moving to Darwin in a couple of years from Canada (wife will be a full fledged Nurse then) and I was thinking on attending University. How is it? Whats the average age of students there?(I'm 31).

Interesting choice for a place to settle - don't know anything really about Charles Dawin uni, but, expect the population is much the same as all other universities - plenty of mature aged students. Not a large city at all, and relatively remote - but I guess that's information you've already considered.

Darwin has the lowest average age of population in Australia, so I'd expect that this would be reflected in the Uni as well. I've attended a remote annex of the Uni, but not the campus in town so I couldn't really guess. I do have friends who lecture there so could ask if you really wanted a very specific answer.

thedouglas,

Ya its really remote I know. The wife and I were in Darwin from September till November in late 2000 and fell in love with the place. Absolutely loved it, hot as hell, but loved it! ;)

Good enough reason to live there! Follow your heart - and if your brain gets some nourishment, mores the better. Great decision to come to Oz!

To my surprise I was told that the average age of students at CDU is the highest in the country, but they couldn't give an exact figure. They said that would be in "The Good University Guide", which they said should be able to be accessed in any library.

Let me know if you have any problems with it.
Cheers
Zig
