| Land Rheinland-Pfalz | Logistics to sail/train to the castle in Bacherach and the fortress in Koblenz same day Posted: Wed June 14, 2006 01:55 PM UTC
We will be staying in Cologne and hoping to sail possibly as far down as Mainz. I have been looking at the KD schedules and don't have a good picture on what would be the best way to see at least in Bacherach and the fortress in Koblenz with a combination of train and sailing. Given the schedules it does not appear that it could be done by boat alone on the same day. We will be starting our day early in the morning!
If we were to have time left over, which would be the best to see - the churches in Oberwesel, or try to see one of the sky lifts in Bingen or Rüdesheim (the most convenient to get there) ... *and* how could this third place be incorporated smoothly with the two activities in the first part of this post.
