Are you speaking of Puerto Rico? If so, then yes, Puerto Rico has some excellant diving, but if staying in Santa Domingo, you'll have to do some traveling. Most of the good dive sites are on the south end of the island.

oops. Me bad. Got my cities mixed up, lol. As far as Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. I think there are some dive spots around there, but you do have to travel to get to them
