I have two free days while in Turin. Should I visit Monaco or Florence?

It depends on why it has occurred to you to go to either! Why are you considering Monaco rather than Nice, Cannes, or anywhere else along that coast? And why are you considering Florence rather than Genoa, Portofino, Siena, Milan, or anywhere else in N. Italy? The answers might tell you what you really want to see/do. Is it just that these 2 places are "famous"? If so, surely you realise that it is for completely different reasons, in one case gambling and the doings of the jet set/minor royalty like the Grimaldis, in the other, Renaissance art, high culture and fashion? Have you looked at VT travel guides for these places to get an idea of what you PERSONALLY would want to do in either? Having visited both, I know that for me, if I had never been to Monaco, I would not have missed anything, whereas if I had never been to Florence, I would have missed a great deal.

Well,
Also Monaco and Florence are completely different. Of Course one is in Italy and one is in France. Anyway, If you like overpriced hotels, superacars such as Ferrari zooming around all over town, Mansions, Fantastic beaches and views and fantastic restaurants then Monaco is for you. Florence is more of an artistic city, and there is definitely more to see there than in Monaco! such as art galleries, fashion shops, historic monuments such as the duomo and cheap hotels and magnificent restaurants, way better than in Monaco, Italy is Number 1 for food at restautrants especially the vino (wine)! Monaco and Florence, I adore them both, although I would probably find it hard to choose which one is better, so I probably would go to both spending 1 day at each... Good Luck, anyway...
