Warwick Heathrow to Warwick

Hopefully someone has done this trip and can advise a first-time visitor! I'm assuming the Heathrow Express connects somehow with trains that will take you out of the city and, in particular, to Warwick. Does anyone know which train lines travel to Warwick (I'll check the internet for their schedules). Also, is there any way of getting to Warwick without coming into London first? Time is of the essence in getting to Warwick, so Iappreciate any help offered!

Hi,
No need to take the Heathrow Express to London - you can travel from Heathrow to Warwick via Reading. It takes about 2.5 hours. Have a look at http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/planmyjourney to plan your journey.

That would be a rather expensive way to get to Warwick!

The Heathrow Express takes you to Paddington station, and some trains to Warwick leave from Paddington. They will invariably stop at Reading on the way, so it would be much cheaper to catch the FlightLine bus to Reading station and travel from there.

Other Warwick trains leave from Marylebone station (which has the distinction of being easily London's nicest rail terminus), which is two tube stops from Paddington. However, you can still save yourself the pricey trip into central London by going to Reading, because even if you don't connect with a direct Warwick train you can catch one of the fairly frequent trains to Banbury or Leaminton, and pick up the train from Marylebone there.

By rail it will cost you 31.70 to go direct from Heathrow to Warwick unless you book in advance or own a railcard. If you go via london, you can add another 20 quid to the journey for the express. I had a look a quick at National Express and I can't find any direct bus to warwick. You sure there is one Barnard?

Sorry, have seen that one now. It takes 4.5 hours though, so train is probably best option for this person.
