There is a lot to do in Vegas, even if you go alone. It really depends what you are interested in and what your budget is. Based on the "not interested in dating" comment, I'm assuming that you would not be interested in the club scene. But there are some great alternatives. There are a lot of great shows- music, performance, comedy, excellent restaurants, spas and a variety of daytrips to places such as Valley of the Fire State Park, Red Rocks and air tours of the Grand Canyon. And there's gambling, of course. :)

Have fun and happy birthday!

Consider a tour to Valley of Fire State Park. Go as early as possible so you can enjoy before the heat arrives! The scenery is absolutely incredible and about as far from the Vegas madness as you an get.

There are art galleries in several casino-hotels that would be nice in the afternoon because they are air conditioned. If you're not into art, there's always shopping.

In the evening, find a show that interests you, and go to that.

Have fun.

Get tickets for Mamma Mia and/or the show at Wynn. They are both dynamite and you will love them! Well worth the money. If you are staying at any of the major hotels (like the Venetian?) you can rent a cabana by the pool for the day and just really enjoy yourself...they are more reasonable M-F than on the weekends. If you have a rental car, drive out to Hoover Dam!!! Get tix and got down into the dam. It is about 30 minutes from Las Vegas. There are also outlet stores in Vegas at the south end of the strip and in Primm (about 30 miles south)...near the Arizona border. The only Neiman Marcus outlet I have ever seen is in Primm! There is a chocolate factory tour (Ethel M's). Be sure to walk up and down the strip at night and enjoy all the free "shows" put on by the landscaping wonders. The musical fountain show at Bellagio is truly stunning. Volcanoes, pirate shows....the strip is amazing for free entertainment and you won't feel alone! Then head to Downtown and enjoy the Fremont Street Experience....they converted the whole area to a free entertainment canopy in order to compete with the Strip. I am not into gambling or clubbing and you don't need to do that to have fun in Vegas. I found the casino museums to be overpriced (Bellagio had so few works of art...what was the point?). Be sure to try a Hot Rock Massage at a spa...but you can only book at the hotel spas if you are a hotel guest. On Fremont street they have casinos with more reasonable shows but they also have 1 cent and 5 cent slots. So you could do those for awhile if you didn't want to spend a lot of money gambling. I don't gamble but the one other thing that I love to do in Vegas is to go to Circus Circus and see all the free acts and try for prizes at the Midway. It is really kind of fun. There is a water slide amusement right across the street from Circus Circus if you're into that kind of thing. And you might want to check out the Luxor. We went to the aquarium or whatever it was at the Mandalay (which is where Mamma Mia was showing) and it was not worth the money. Then again, we have been all over the world and so have seen better museums and aquariums than those in Vegas. If Vegas is the only chance you'll ever get to see those kinds of things then do it. Otherwise, give it a pass. Lots of times the hotels will have free afternoon comedy or magic shows...so you should check those out. Online is the best bet. I heard Danny Gans puts on an INCREDIBLE show but the weekend we were there his show was dark (this was 3 years ago) because he was in some kind of dispute. I believe his show is back so you would probably enjoy it...he is a singer according to my brother and absolutely a dynamite showman. Stay cool - it will definitely be hot there!

RE: Danny Gans. I just checked and he is indeed at the Mirage in Las Vegas and he is a voice impressionist.

Where do I start!!

You will never be alone in Vegas it has so much to offer.

Shopping (There are so many!)
Shows
Sitting by the Pool
Just looking round all the fantastic casinos is fantastic
Try out all the restaurants. You can do this easily on your own as so many people even if they come in a group or a couple seem to split up and do there own thing. There are always people in restaurants who are on their own so do not be afraid to go in.
There are some great bars, even if you do not fancy the nightclubs.
Golf
Of course gambling and more gambling!

But beside all of this there is so much to see just outside vegas (Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Red Rock Canyon and more). Take a helicopter ride from Vegas to Grand Canyon or even just fly over the strip.
Go on one of the many tours which leave Vegas.
Or rent a car.

Take a look at the following site for some great ideas on what to see and do:

Have a great birthday you will love it!!

Go see a Chippendales show (at the Rio Hotel and Casino), you wont regret it. Its fun to do by yourself or with a group. You can just sit back and enjoy the show. Hope you have a wonderful time celebrating in Vegas!
