Islamabad Have been offered a job in Islamabad
Posted: Thu June 1, 2006 07:44 PM UTC
I have been offered a (very intersting) job in Islamabad. I will have to make up my mind within the next few weeks.

I am a woman in my early thirties and single.

What I am most worried about (dont ask me why I share this on the internet... ) is that the expat community is mostly families with kids and that I will have a hard time building up a no-kids-social circle. I love hiking and discovering pakistan is going to be fascinating but...

I would very much apprechiate honest answers and comments!!

Cheers

There is plenty of expat community in Islamabad. Most of them are diplomats and live with their families. You can easily make social circle with local women too, both working and non-working. Women work in all sectors. You will come across highly educated women (westernized too). For expats, there are clubs and get togethers.

Islamabad comes among the top ten most expensive property markets in the world. So, residents are fairly rich. You will find all upscale products there as well. It is also the base to go to beautiful northern areas.

Good day,

Welcome to Pakistan.

It's the land of great people, with hospitality and the most friendliest attitude on the face of the globe, therefore
there's no need to worry about your safety.
Islamabad, the capital city of Pakistan, nicest place to live and work.

You'll find numerous diplomats, expats and locals as well to have a circle of friends therefore
don't worry about anything here.

If you're in plains then the history's there inshape of archaelogical sites and in north the majestic mountains
like K2, Nanaga parbat in Himalaya and karakoram.

You'd love to live here I assure you.

I welcome your queries,

Imran Schah

I dont think Nicole here needs compassion of all the thingz. What she need is friendly advice and support. And dishing out your contacts on the main is so duh! seriously. :)

Nicole .. I was recently in the capital city and despite the fact that i was workin there most of my time .. i fell in the love with the city. Weather too was not that harsh from what iam used to. Ill strongly recommend Islamabad to anyone. Hope your interview goes well.
