Hi we are looking to travel to Sabah in September. We are planning to stay at the Shangri-La-Ras Ria Resort and have heard it is under renovations. has anyone been lately that can advise if it is still okay to stay there?? Tom

My husband and i have booked to go there this October and were told about renovation work. I still went ahead and booked and requested a delux seaview room, as work it mainly to be around the car park area of hotel, so we're not too bothered by it and resort just looks fab!!

my family and I were there last June (perhaps when the renovations began?). We had some problem with the noise, and told the hotel about it, and they promptly moved us to another wing. Our new room was then also furnished with a bottle of wine, fruit and some toys for our children!

Our time there was simply fantastic, and we are hoping to go back soon. In fact, we ended up staying one night at the Shangri-La's other resort directly in KK, and we would hands down recommend the Rasa Ria first.

Shangri-La Rasa Ria Resort is in Tuaran, Sabah and quite a distance from Kota Kinabalu (central town), Sabah.

Actually there are many resorts in Kota Kinabalu i.e. Shangri-La's Tanjung Aru Resort (approx 10 mins. from airport & town), Pan Pacific Sutera Harbour Resort, Kota Kinabalu, Promenade Hotel and i prefer to stay at Nexus Karambunai Resort (approx. 20-30 mins. from town).

don't forget to visits to Manukan Island, Mamutik Island , Sapi Island in Kota Kinabalu!...
