| San Sebastián | Travelling from Barcelona to Bilbao. Posted: Wed May 31, 2006 12:15 PM UTC
Hi, everyone!
I am at last travelling around Spain and i would like some advice about my trip. More specifically, i will fly to BARCELONA around the middle of June and end up in BILBAO where i will fly back. During a period of 15 days i want to visit also BURGOS and SAN SEBASTIAN and I would like some sugestions about what's the best way and best order to travel from one city to another, how many days to stay in each one and places i shouldnt miss. If you also have any ideas for cheap accommodation or any other cities i should visit, please dont hesitate to say. Gracias AMIGOS!!! |

My wife and I travelled from Barcelona to San Sebastian and had the best time. Barcelona and San Sebastian are of course worth a few days each. The rest of the time we stayed in the Pyrennes. This region seemed remarkably untouristed despite it's beauty. I don't know how much you enjoy small towns and landscapes, because that's what this region has. Some beautiful towns are Besalu', Bellver de Cerdanya, Taull and other villages in the Val de Boi (beautiful scenery and unique romanesque churches). The two national parks, Aiguestortes and Ordesa y Monte Perdido are stunning and definately worth a stop if you at all appreciate mountains walks and hiking.
West of San Sebastian are some great little towns along the coast, such as Lekeitio, which will give you a good impression of the Basque maritime heritage. I haven't built my Spain VT pages, but if you're interested, check back in a few weeks and I should have some fotos up. Or e-mail with questions if you like.
