please can you send me some photos of the bars/clubs in zaandam and what kind of music they play, hours they are open and typical age group in each place.

are there any to avoid, ive heard that it can be a bit unsavoury at times and the area is a little run down.

How big (in miles) is Zaandam, and are there any trains from Amsterdam late a t night to Zaandam.

From end to end, Zaandam is about 5-6 kilometers (American? Must be, as almost nobody uses miles in Europe). For train timetables, look up ns.nl . The last train to Zaandam is at 1.06. For buses, you can look up www.9292ov.nl. Apparently, Connexxion has a "niteliner" bus which runs at night from Amsterdam to Zaandam.

http://www.partyscene.nl does not come up with any Zaandam hotspots.
I guess all Zaandammers just go to Amsterdam for clubbing.
