Just noticed that every one wants to visit mombassa if you really want a great coast experience try lamu or malindi mombassa is great but lamu is stunning and very relaxed and safe

I would love to come, but maybe you can advise me. My fiance and I are quite adventurous, we would like to fly in to Mombasa or Nairobi and drive to Lamu - is this possible? Otherwise how about train from Nairobi to Malindi then a flight to Lamu? Any other options you can think of that would be reasonably safe and comfortable without being too boring or expensive?

btw.- train goes from Nairobi to Mombasa (and back); you can go to Malindi by bus, taxi etc; from Malindi you can fly (about 3/4 hour flight) to Lamu (or even directly from Nairobi- see Kenya Airways site on net...)- or go from Mombasa to lamu by bus- 10 hourson African ...hm- roads.... We practice flyght- not so (so?) expensive, fast and- if you want adventure- try dhow safari thru lamu archipelago...
