A large group of us are staying at Villa Angelina up the hill from Varenna in Vezio later this year...any inside scoop on this place?
Anyway, looking for some good hiking and golf course options...understanding both outings will probably be best served on the west side of the lake. Appreciate any feedback! |

Don't know about golf, but there's a hotel right by the ferry pier in Varenna (Alberco Olivedo) that has the *best* restaurant. Tables are out by the lake. If interested see my posting.

golf near Lake Como - near the southern end of the lake in Montorfano is a course affiliated with the luxury hotel Villa D"Este of Cernobbio but located some miles away. It is regarded as one of Italy's better courses particularly for its par 3 holes. www.golfvilladeste.com for details. Biggest problem for you - getting there. Could hydrofoil to Como, then taxi. If you have a car, ferry to Bellagio and drive down to Como from there (a beautiful trip, BTW).
