| Porto Alegre | Traveling from Porto Alegre to Iguaca Falls? Posted: Fri May 26, 2006 01:17 AM UTC
What are the possible methods of getting from Porto Alegre to Iguaca Falls? For each one, how long does it take and how much does it cost? Thank you.

Don't know how much it costs, but buses are really the only option beside flying. Buses are never that expensive in Brasil. As far as flying, check Varig and TAM for a Brasilian airpass. You get four flight coupons for about $400.

I highly recommend just flying instead of taking a bus, if you can. My parents have done such a really long bus trip in Brazil, and it's really not comfortable.

Travelling by Bus is more economical. Costs about 90 Brazilian rias.but the journey is about 13 hours. Not a great sceneray but can save a lot of time if you take the overnight bus. Bus leaves about 8:30 PM from porto alegre and reaches Foz Di Iguazu by about 9.00 AM. Very comfortable & clean bus more like business class airline seats. Restroom is also there in the bus. Brace yourself with good snacks prepacked. Bus stops for about 30 mts in between for driver dinner. No direct flight from porto alegre and very expensive by flight.

Hi I am planning to leave Porto Alegre on 20th April 07, and staying 1 more night in Iguacu falls. After that i will take a flight back to Sao Paulo. Can anyone advise which bus companies there are? Any websites?
At the same time, are there any recommended budget hotels near the falls? Appreciate all your replies!
