how to start planning a trip around the whitsunday islands Posted: Wed May 24, 2006 03:24 AM UTC
I have just started to book my 6 week honeymoon in oz and nz for next march and april. One of the things i most want to do is sail around the whitsunday islands. Can anyone recomend a good company to do this with and if it will be cheaper to book before we go or when we get there. any help and advice would be much appreciated.

We used Cumberland Charter Yachts when we sailed around the Whitsundays... They were GREAT to deal with, very friendly and helpful and fairly good prices. Their web site is: www.ccy.com.au from memory. You can check out my Whitsunday Island pages for more info or to see our piccies etc. :)
It's GORGEOUS up there and would be a great spot for a honeymoon! :)

Hi Where are you staying on the Whitsundays? Are you on one of the islands, if so they have day trips, one is the 3 island boat trip, another is sailing on the racing yacht Ragamuffin. We will be taking these from Hamilton Island , but I am certain tours also commence from the mailand which will provide similar experiences.

Best to wait and book with a company over there. You will have no problem finding an agency as they are scattered all over the place. Just make sure you know what you want, ie: what kind of boat, for how long and whether you want to liveaboard or on the island. Look for a PeterPans travel, Backpacker World or Travelbugs.
