How much does it cost to rent a car in Antigua and do you need and international drivers licence. What is the public transport system like and how far is it from St John's to the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium. Can it be walked or is transport a must.

Car rentals in Antigua can be a little expensive (at least by UK standards), but to have your own transport is definitely worthwhile. Prices car range between $35 US to around $70 US a day depending on the vehicle type (car, jeep etc). You will need a driving license that is valid for your country and then you will also need a temporary license (usually bought from the rental company) for about $20 US.
You can get around by the local buses, which are cheap if not a little unreliable. Otherwise you can always get a taxi from place to place, although this might work out expensive if you are planning a lot of outings. From St John’s (the outskirts) to the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium is about a 10-15 minute drive (depending on traffic). If you like walking then it is possible, but it’s possible more than 5miles (my memory of the route from St Johns to the stadium is not so good). Personally I would recommend a rental car or taxi.
