Hi I'm going on my first trip to Europe, Germany, for the world cup Amsterdam than to Montreux for the Jazz festival. Since we will be moving around quite a bit I'm told I will have to take one suitcase that I can handle myself. Can you world travlers recommend clothing I should take that will accomodate these different cities. Trip is planned for end of June through the middle of July.

Layers. It will be warm but also changable weather. You just cannot tell.
We were in Montreaux a couple of years ago and it was in the 90's. Amsterdam will be cooler but again you never know. A small raincoat for emergencys. 1 sweater only. No large coat required. An England football shirt for Germany. Sounds a fantastic trip, enjoy it.
