Fave destination in Costa Rica

I know this is an open question, but I was hoping to spend 2 weeks in Costa Rica and I would like to hear about your favorite part of Costa Rica. To be honest, I would like to spend my two weeks in one specific region. Basically, what I am looking for is ,of course, a place by the sea, a small town, but with a place to stay, e.g. a hostel, or a guestroom, but not a hotel, or resort!!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!

cabo blanco on the nicoya peninsula, ballena nation park south of dominacal or on the east coast peurto viejo south of there is a spot called punta uva. all really awsome spots.

I have only been on the Nicoyan Peninsula, but my friend who travelled with me told me that the Pacific side is much nicer than the Carribean. I have heard nothing but wonderful things about Manuel Antonio...

Jaco and Manuel Antonio are good beach spots, but my favories places were Monteverde (rainforest) and Arenal (volcano).

I really enjoyed the rain forest region up around Tortarigo.{SP?] Difficult to get to but really worth the effort.

Caribbean side is a great area to visit. No hi rise hotels, small towns, good nature and black or white sand beaches.
