In July 2006 I will visiting Arnhem,the sole purpose being to take my Mother to visit her brothers war grave at The Reichswald Forest Cemetery. Has any anyone suggestions and or directions as to how we could travel from Arnhem to the cemetery.

Reichswald Forest cemetery is SW of Kleve just over the German border. It's something like 15 miles from Arnhem. The directions can be found on CWGC.com the War graves official site. You can select the cemetery for travel details or you can put your uncle's name in and that will give his details and the link to the cemetery. It's worth checking because sometimes people can get the cemetery details wrong and be disappointed when who they seek isn't there. If you have a car it shouldn't be a problem but if you're travelling by train Kleve is where you need to get to not Arnhem.

Travel by train from Arnhem to Nijmegen.

From the Nijmegen Train station the Novio bus 58 departs to Kleve via Kranenburg.

I guess you have to get some local transport at Kleve to go to your destination.

Hello John,

Another way to reach the Reichswald Forest Cemetry is to take the train from Arnhem to Emmerich (Germany) and from here by Taxi to the cemetry. This will be somewhat more expensive, but is surely more comfortable then hopping on and off busses that also will not bring you the whole way.

As I am going on holiday in the first two weeks of July, I might not be able to help you out in this. If however your stay concerns the last two weeks of July, please do let me know. I might be of any assistance ...
