Me and my hubby are going to relocate to Crete and will be looking to work in an area full of tourists, dealing with tourists etc, mainly english, and hotels etc. Would like to know what area you would suggest to move to. Im going to Chania June for a week to look around, but wondered about Heraklion too.
Any other area you know.
Any help would be great.

Hiya,

I've been to Crete a few times. Beautiful island to move to!!! Chania is a very nice tourist place to start a business, bit quiet though in comparison to Hersonissos, this is the real busy part of the island, loads of hotels, restaurants, bars etc. etc. Many English, Irish and Dutch people go there, young and old. Heraklion is the capitol of the island and though a lot of tourist go there, it is mainly daytrips to the city and site of Knossos. If you're really looking for the busy part, maybe you should check out Hersonissos too when you're there! Hope this is a bit of help!

Good luck to you both, Sellie

Thank you so much for your speedy reply. I could do with all the help I can get as when I have found a place to live then I have to live with my choice for a while, it helps to get it right from the onset.
My husband works in Real Estate and I am a Nail Tech but I am also versatile in that I go round bars and restaurants making menus from scrtch and laminating them, I have maintained Villas and apts for many years preparing them for guests.
So that is why we need to be in a busy area for work purposes.
Thanks again for your suggestions.
