DAO's right. Town itself is cute, there's a steep pathway up to the Monastery or there are tracks along the coastline (rocky) - turn left at the ferry - 30 minute walk will bring you to a small beach: turn right at the ferry and it will bring you to the small bay and village of Kamuni.
Hydra is one of the more expensive Greek islands - Mavramartis in Kamuni is good and reasonable, as is Phillipa's Creperie in Hydra (up the hill from the port). Big favourite for travellers/tourists is Captain George (in the alleyways). If you want to be on the harbour itself, try Isagari's (left from the ferry, but all of 2 minutes from it!) Enjoy

Tons of things to do... like talk to the donkeys.. the seagulls.. there are a couple of cats that still miss me. Ah... very important.. you could stare at the boats passing by... and ejoy the colours... Restaurant? Try Manolis... got a tip on this somewhere... you will not have to apply for a second mortage is you go there. Cheers Next...
