| Kerkyra | Going to Corfu from the port Posted: Thu May 18, 2006 03:24 AM UTC
Hi I will be on cruise that will stop by Corfu early in the morning. Have to return before night time. I like sightseeing beautiful places and shopping.
Is there public bus between the port and Corfu town ? I wonder if you share your thoughts on Achillion Palace and Old Fortresses. Are they reachable by local bus as well? How long approx it will take? thanks Terence |

Hi Terence
The main port of Corfu is at Corfu Town. Simply step off your ship and all the sights are within walking distance! I'd be surprised if your cruise ship was stopping at any other port on the island.....but you might know otherwise? If not, then you'll be arriving at Corfu Town!! There are many great places to see on the island (easily reached by bus/taxi), but if you've just got one day, then I'd stick to exploring Corfu Town on foot. There are many sights to be seen and many narrow shopping streets to wander! Have a great trip! Jonathan
