I and my wants to visit Astore and Deosai and wanted an economical and low cost tour. Kindly anyone could guide.

Hi,
If you are a local... then you can have a ball of a time in Astore, Skardu and deosai in mere Rs 15,000 but if you are a foreigner then you will have to join one of the tour guides which will obviously be expensive... suggestions:- http://tours.hypermart.net/adventure/16ddeosa.htm http://www.travel.web.pk/tours/special_07.asp http://www.sitara.com/itineraries/t34.html. One of the hotels in gilgit or Skardu can arrange for the tour to Astore and Deosai at the spot ... hotels like JSR, RUPAL INN etc ( i have forgotten the names now :) ) This should be less expensive. Plus you can find loads of Tours on the web ... go to google.com type in Astore + Deosai + tours.. The best time of touring this place is from May to October... Rgds, Salman

If u r a foreigner...goto gilgit..stay at Montain Refuge...or Hunza Inn...ask for a tour guide who'll make all the arrangements for excursion to deosai via astore/traishing/chilum..keep yr passports and registered with Minsitry of Tourism in Islamabad before departing..
If u r a local..just pack a ruck sack ..either travel by road on bus called silk route or get to gilgit by PIA. Ask ppl there for trip to deosai..everybody will help. I myself planning to go up north by 1st week of july if u want u may join as well. email: hassan.zaidi@techie.com
