I have goitten mixed reviews on this hotel. Some refer to it as a "hostal", others say it is more upscale? Can anybody help?

I had been checking on internet, and by sure for the caracteristics, it must be a hotel, as still i do not know any hostal with 100 rooms, laundry service, restaurant and thing like that.

It is on a palace of the XVI century and very centrical.

It is only 2 stars, but by sure it is a hotel, not a hostal

It is definitively a hotel ... at least, it was the last time I walked down that street :-)

The hotel has an official web page (in Spanish and English): http://www.himperial.com/

Yes, it is a hotel. It is right in the center of the town, behind the County hall. It is a quite good hotel although the main thing is its location.
But, be careful, if you are driving, it is imposible to park free anywhere around the hotel. There are two parkings near the hotel, but you will have to pay for them.
Other good hotels in Valladolid in the center of the town are Hotel Mozart, Hotel Catedral, Hotel Roma, Hotel Lasa, Hotel Miño (only 1 star)...
At walking distance you will find NH Ciudad de Valladolid.
Don't hesitate to ask me if you need any information.
Regards,
Maria

I stayed here in April and it is definitely a hotel. Our room and the reception were nice and the whole hotel was clean and well run. The breakfast was the usual simple continental breakfast, which we paid for separately, I think it was about 6 euro. We ate in the restaurant once at night but weren't particularly impressed, but this could be because we didn't really know what to order, if you don't speak Spanish a phrase book is definitely needed. There are lots of tapas bars and restaurants around but the best meal we had was in an Italian restaurant (turn right outside hotel, right again, then left). Hope you enjoy your stay.
