Alghero Fishing in Alghero
Posted: Sun May 14, 2006 01:26 PM UTC
Does anyone know the best places to go fishing in or near Alghero? Would rather do it independently than go on a fishing trip, are there places that you can go on your own, or rent row boats? Do you need a fishing licence?

Hi,
if you mean the most common sea fishing (from boat, reef, beach, ..) you do not need any fishing licence. On the other hand if you mean sweet-water fishing (lake or river) you need a fishing licence.
A colleague of mine told me that one of the best place for sea fishing could be Porto Conte.
Enjoy

Hi!
the best spot for fresh-water fishing is the Cuga Lake, follow to Uri/Olmedo direction, 15km from Alghero. That's one of the best places for carps and bass. Like any fresh-water spots here in Sardinia it needs the fishing licence and during summer it might have no water, even if it should be bigger enough to be empty. Actually I don't know where you can get a temporary licence; maybe in the Uri city hall someone could help you.......or even tell you to go fishing without any worry for a fine :-)
Moving 40km south from Alghero, you can try in Bosa, at the Temo's mouth. There you can try many fishing techniques thanks to many fish varieties.
And last but not least, for salt-water fishing, you can try along all the coast around Alghero. Nice advice from VirtualNick, Porto Conte is a nice spot, and it's sheltered from NW "maestrale" wind. It all depends on what kind of fishing you want to do ;-)
Enjoy!

I can suggest you Valledoria and Badesi..
There is the sea and the river, and usually there are internationals surfcasting competitions..
Good luck !
Ah, if you need an accomodation, send me an email..
