| Brighton | Good cheap place to stay Posted: Wed May 10, 2006 04:49 PM UTC
Hi everyone
A mate and I are going down to Brighton this weekend and need somewhere good to stay, probably in a dorm. Our preferences (call me picky...) are: Somewhere with lots of travellers, not stag do's etc Somewhere with no curfew, as we'll probably fancy a few beers Somewhere within easy walking distance of the centre If anyone knows of places, please give me a shout. |

Hiya, I haven't stayed in St Christophers in Brighton but I have stayed in a couple of their London ones and they have a very good reputation for being clean and safe etc.
http://www.st-christophers.co.uk/hostels/brighton_hostels They always have a nice bar downstairs too. Very popular with backpackers, don't know about stag do's though! :))

This one is very central too, I've been inside but haven't stayed there. Looking at the website it seems that they do have stag parties there as well as backpackers though. Loads of pubs in this area too.

Cheers for your tips Maria-
Seems they don't take bookings so we're just going to cruise there on the day and hope for the best! (unless anyone else has good tips?) Any tips for some nice non-staggy pubs or clubs?

Hi Ben,
Try the Hope Bar (straight down the road from the station) or The Western Front.. can't remember the addy, it's on my Brighton page though. They both do live music some nights. Anyway there are so many pubs in Brighton, if you don't like one it's quick and easy enough to find another! Hope you find somewhere to stay, have a great time! http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/6b28f/4d3b4/ Maria :)
