Jasper National Park Jasper Park Lodge Food Prices

I'm due to stay at the JPL for 3 nights from Dec 27th-29th of this year.

Out of interest - what are the prices at the restaurants/snack bars etc like? I don't have a clue what to expect & I'm trying to work out how much money I'm likely to need.

Many thanks

Sam

HI
I am from Jasper (was born and raised there)
Prepare for high, over blown prices at JPL. Great place to stay, the cabins, the trails around the lake - absolutely awsome. Get into town to buy all you need. Buy your booze in town. Drinks are a stupid price at the JPL bar. If you have a rental car, it is a 10-15 minute drive into town. Good restaurants there. If no car there is a town service shuttle (5.00 each way per person)
My buddy Archie runs Fiddel River, a mostly fish and seafood restaurant with a cool non smoking bar in the basement, the Downstream.
This is on the main street, just across the street and west of the train station.
Others in town:
Something Else (greek)
Papa Georges (casual to fine)
Jasper Pizza Place ( killer pizza and other burger snacks, etc.)
De'd Dog Lounge, Astoria Hotel (good drinks and interesting locals sippin' a few back)
La Fiesta (beside post office) Spanish/Mexican
Nick's Prime rib Village - Tonquin Motel East end of town - this is the end of town you enter Jasper coming in from the lodge.
Beer and Wine stores to trip over throughout town - usually not open very late so buy in the daytime.
It will be great at the lodge at Xmas
They usually have a skating rink right in front of the main lodge.
Hope you have fun.
John

Hi John

Thanks for your detailed reply! I was expecting hefty prices at the JPL - obviously it'll be nice to eat there some evenings but others & during the day, it'd be good to go into Jasper.

Can't wait to visit now....hope it goes quickly!

Hi,

They are right! JPL is fabulous but way overpriced. There are some fantastic independant digs in town. Soon I will have some great pics of Jasper on my home page, including JPL. Just to give you an idea we will spend about $400.00 when in Jasper and we don't pay for accomodations as we stay with friends.

Enjoy

Sammy and Kris

Thanks for this. I look forward to seeing your pics! We'll only be there for 3 nights but I still like looking at what's available.

Hey there! I'm sorry but I'm not very familiar with London - I'm about 4 hours away! Would you have enough time to see a show? The theatres in London are fab. If not, where will you be staying - or haven't you decided yet?
