Jasper National Park Glacier trekking - not snocoach
Posted: Sat May 6, 2006 10:31 PM UTC
Hi,my husband and I are coming to the rockies end aug begining September. We will be in Jasper for 3 nights and banff for five. We have previously trekked on glaciers in Southern Argentina using crampons and would like to continue this fantiastic experience. WHilst we are not trained to guide oursleves we'd like to vetnure onto the glaciers more than the snocoach type. From looking on the net I can find very few companies that do this. Can anyone point me in the direction of some tour/guide companies

many thanks

Hi,

If you go to the website www.discoverjasper.com you will find links to a couple of companies that do this. I located one under the heading "Hiking & Camping - Guided Walks" and one under the heading "SNow & Ice - Icefield Tours".

As this type of tour is quite specialized, I don't think there are many companies that offer this service.

Hope this helps.

It is here that you will have the chance to ride a Slowcoach to the middle of Tabasco Glacier to learn more about its geological features In addition to an interpretation center, the Center houses the Slowcoach tour center and a hotel ... It’s not too close form the truth.
