Hello,
I'm planning a trip to Croatia with a friend of mine. We are (2) single girls in our 30's from Toronto Canada. We will be visiting Trieste from August 18-21 and then off to Croatia from Aug 22-31.... We would like to know where we should stay as a "Home Base" and then be able to travel to different islands/beaches each day. We were thinking of staying in the city of Rijeka but not sure.. Can someone suggest a place.. Thanks !!! |

If you stay in Rijeka or Pula (more attractive) then you can explore whole Istria region, from there you can visit Porec, Rovinj, Umag, Opatija and Islands: Krk, Cres, Losinj, Pag etc.
But that is only Northen part of Croatian coast. Hope it helps. Enjoy.

I wouldn't consider the rather boring port city of Rijeka as a base. Instead, perhaps pretty Rovinj or Porec? Enjoy...
