Tampere Travel Forum

Hey folks,

I am heading to Tampere in a couple weeks to spend a weekend with a friend. Would like to see some live Finnish folk music somewhere while there...anyone know of any places that might play some music? Have searched all over online but haven't found anything as of yet.

Also, any recommended day trips (or maybe even an overnight trip)? We basically chose to visit Tampere in Finland because ryanair flies there...so if there is any other easily accessible location to visit that might be interesting, we wouldn't mind going there. We will arrive in Tampere on Sat. morning and leave on Monday night...so just trying to see what the best options are.

lol...well by folk music i am looking for your definition of traditional music on traditional instruments....preferably an accordion in the mix. :) Is it generally easy to find locations to here this type of music? Or am I going to have to search far and wide for it?
