| Vatican City | Should I reserve tickets for The Vatican Museum? Posted: Wed May 3, 2006 05:29 PM UTC
Hello!
I am visiting Rome & the Vatican at the end of May. While reserching the Vatican, I am getting conflicting reports as to whether or not I should try to reserve tickets for the Vatican Musuem. One source said you cannot get reservations for general admission to the museum, only for private tours. Does anyone know if this is true? Thanks for your help! -Kristin |

Hi, No it's not true. You can line up and buy tickets.
The lines are shorter in the afternoon around 2p.m. They do move quickly. It's about 12 euros pp. Some tours price includes the entry and others don't. We've booked one with Panorama Tours. It's called the Papal Audience Tour. Only on Wed.morning the Pope gives a public audience and his blessing in St.Peter's Square. This tour picks us up in central Rome at our hotel and guarantees us a place inside the square where we can see the Pope. It's $35pp. Angel Tours has several different walking tours. www.info@angeltoursrome.com Hope this helps. Have fun!
