Acommodation and train

Hi, I'm Rodrigo from MExico, and will be traveling through Eastern europe this summer. I was wondering if you could give me some advice as to where to find a nice (inexpensive) hoste in a cool part of Budapest. Also, do you know which is the bets way to get to Zagreb, Croatia? because that will be my next destination, and I hope there is a train going there.

thanks a bunch

On my (poor) Budapest page there is an accomodation tip. This is a ncie and cheap accomodation. It is not near the city center, but Budapest has a good bus system.

Ciao!

There are three direct trains daily from Budapest to Zagreb. You will find timetables at www.bahn.de.
Also, there are cheap flights from Budapest to airports on Croatian coast (not Zagreb though, but it might be interesting for you). Flights are operated by SkyEurope and WizzAir.

Hi, I would recommend to you Vamhaz hostel:
http://www.hostelworld.com/hosteldetails.php/VamhazHostel-Budapest-13250

it's 50 meters away from the metro station, in about even smaller distance from Donaube and it's in a pretty central area.

and you will not have to sleep on a bed with floors :)
