| Kota Baharu | Travelling to Thailand from KB Posted: Wed May 3, 2006 04:25 PM UTC
Hi
Can anyone please tell me if it's easy to travel to Bangkok from KB by train? I have heard a sleeper leaves from a town across the border arriving Bangkok the following morning. Is it easy to get from KB to the train? And has anyone any experience of the train. I'd like to take the Ist class sleeper. Any help is appreciated Thanks BFJ |

hi bfj...
i don't know whether there is a train service from bkk to kb or not... but that part of southern thailand is best be avoided due to unrest in the 3 provinces north of the malaysian state kelantan (where kb is)... there are occasional shootings and bombing in these areas... regards.chia

Thanks for your advice. It sounds like this route is worth avoiding at present.I have seen some other advice recently which supports your comments. Apparently railways and stations have been targeted in this region.
