I'm thinking of staying at Bruxelles and travelling to Eindhoven for the football match, but the public transport times render this virtually impossible (after the match!); so are there any other inexpensive ways to get back to Brussels, leaving Eindhoven at approximately midnight on a Wednesday night / Thursday morning?

I agree you have problems on the train front with the timetables let alone Boro's cliffhanging exploits. Are you sure you'll be leaving at midnight. Won't you be 3-0 down and back to 3-3 and 20 penalties before you win? Seriously the only way of travelling at that time would be taxi. I know taxi prices vary but I've found Belgian cabs to be reasonably priced and people carriers can be available rather than the Datsun's we're used to. Most Belgians speak english so language shouldn't be a problem. Try some Brussells taxi firms from the net and travel in style to and from the final. Once you take the train fares off it could be a good deal if there are a few of you. I hope Boeteng, Ehioghu and Southgate make the final and best of luck however you get there.
