Visiting Venice, Italy
Posted: Mon June 9, 2003 09:01 PM UTC
Hi and Shalom:
These are the places and dates we will be traveling in July 2003.

July 9, arrive Munich, Germany, travel to Bolzano, Italy area, stay 2 nights.
July 11, arrive Ferrara, Italy, stay 3 nights.
July14, arrive Rijeke, Croatia, stay 1 night.
July 15, arrive Plitvice, Croatia, stay 2 nights.
July 17, arrive Zagreb, Croatia, stay 3 nights.
July 20, arrive Ljubljana, Slovenia, stay 2 nights.
July 22, arrive Dovje, Slovenia, stay 2 nights.
July 24, arrive Ardagger, Austria, stay 2 nights.
July 26, arrive Munich, Germany, stay 2 nights.
July 28, return to Israel (and yes, stay a lot of nights ;O))).

Would appreciate any and all suggestions of things to see, things to do, where to stay (we prefer Bed & Breakfast, but have a tight budget of maximum 60 euro for the three of us per night), where to eat, along that route, etc.etc.etc……

We like exceptional scenery, good food, good wine, enjoy cultural events, meeting people and are usually not in a hurry, we take our time to actually “see” and try to experience a country, not only put a check by the name, but we take memories home.
So any help would be great.

Thanks.
Martin, Zohara and Tal

An advice... from Bolzano to Ferrara don't miss a stop in Verona.
On the Garda Lake YOu can find an accomodation (booking before arrive !). In Verona with 60 E. is impossible to find !
Trento are an other beautiful town, but Verona is better.
If you like good wine... Verona (and the rest of Italy) is yours paradise !
Feel free to write me for other informations...
Ciao, Michele.

Hi Michele and thanks for the advice. We are on a very short visit this time to visit friends in Ferrara and will go with them to Venice. But we will be back to northern Italy for a "good" visit (good = longer).
Thanks,
Martin

Hi Martin,
If you travel by car, and you go from Bolzano to Ferrara, on the highway you wiil find the "Verona Nord" gate.
Spend a pair (four are better !) hours to visit Verona, than... drive to Ferrara on the 434 State Street (about 1.5 hour... 100 Km).
If you are by train... is a problem !

Hi again:
We will be driving from Marmolada down south to Venice and from there to Ferrara. What we might do is take our friends on a trip to Verona as you suggested and then swing back to Venice.
Thanks again.
Martin

Shalom again Michele and much thanks for your offer of information. I will find out from our friends if they want to visit Verona, and if YES, then will contact you for your kind help.
