| Yukon Territory | Road trip advice Posted: Fri April 28, 2006 05:07 PM UTC
I am planning a road trip from Denver, to Seattle, and up through the Yukon to Alaska beginning in mid May. I have the Mile Post, but know so little about this region. Any suggestions? I'd love to chat with anyone who has done this and who's familiar with the terrain, region, people, etc.
Thanks!! |

I've driven from Vancouver to Alaska more times than I can count, and live in the southern Yukon. Having The Milepost is a really good start - I have an enormous amount of information linked from the Alaska Highway photo album at http://www.explorenorth.com/library/weekly/aa111398.htm

Just don't underestimate the size of British Columbia. A lot of people, mostly Europeans mind you, think they can drive through BC in the span of a few hours and "pass through" on the way to Alaska. However, BC length-wise is further than driving from Seattle to the Mexican border.
