Greetings... traveling to Cuba druing Hurricane season with a child is NOT ideal. A few years ago, I was there in late September, and we got evacuated half way through our trip! Instead of 2 weeks, we only had 6 days... and those were mostly cloudy. Ideally, NOW is a good time... March, April, May... and less expensive, before school lets out!

If you really want to travel to Cuba in October, book last minute... 4 days before departing. Right before booking, check out the National Hurricane Center website at: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/. You will be able to see any possible hurricanes brewing off the coast of Africa... I did this last year, paid $800 for 1 wk at a 4.5 star hotel and never saw a cloud... this was last September...

Good Luck

Hi, we're going the this hotel in a few days. You might want to check whether it's open in October, I was under the impression it was closing in September for 2-3 months for refurbishment, apparantly not all the travel agents are aware of this yet.
