Hi, which month is best to capture the fall colors? I was told Sept by one travel agent, but a friend heard Oct.
Is it also true that it is best to see the lakes before 8:30 am or any time of day would be fine? Thank you. |

I have been there in October (many years ago) and the colours were beautiful! But then, it snowed one day. I think, to be at the lakes before 8:30 a.m. means, that afterwards many tourist will be there, too. Jiuzhagou has become a very touristy place now.

Avoid the first 10 days of October because it is the Golden Week and many Chinese take their vacations. It will be shoulder to shoulder crowds at Jiuzhaigou if you go during the Golden Week. Second half of October will be nice.
