Garmisch-Partenkirchen English-speaking ski instruction for children?
Posted: Thu April 27, 2006 01:26 AM UTC
We have tix to Stuttgart over Christmas, and I have faith that I could find a B&B at this late date in Garmisch, and we'd like to take our kids and go ski for a week. Unfortunately, our 6-year old has only minimal German and we'd like to find a ski "program" to put the kids in for at least half of each day. Does anyone have ideas on a ski programme that does kid group lessons in English over the Christmas holidays???? How about in another (Bavarian or Austrian or Swiss or French) location within 4 or 5 hours of Stuttgart? Thanks in advance for any help, advice, etc......

From Stuttgart I would recommend the Allgäu/Oberstdorf area.
http://www.allgaeu.info
http://www.oberstdorf.de

ski schools
http://www.oberstdorf.de/index.shtml?seite=marktplatz&pid=19

or write to the tourist office
info@oberstdorf.de
They will know best if there such offers and by whom.

might be a good ideal to specifie that you want american english not uk british english. in some ski resorts they are considered two different languages and have different instructors.

Greetings from Germany,

If you´re still with the Corps or retired with I.D. card, you can use the American Forces Recreation Center´s Hausberg Ski Lodge, located in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, where ski instructors speak English. Please see The Edelweiss Hotel´s "activities" link for details: http://www.edelweisslodgeandresort.com/skiing.html

Viel Spass!
