Anyone been to Negril lately. I am going on Saturday and am planning on enjoying the three R's, one in particular. Any advice on how to safely purchase?

I think you may be suprised how long it will take to be asked

See the pretty Jamaican policemen downtown. See their shiny automatic weapons. Stay away from anyone offering you anything with the constables around. In the old days, the authorities arrested and immediately deported tourists caught with marijuana. No more. Now it's fines, jail time and a trip home, permanently.

That said, you likely won't have to leave your resort. The gardiner, busboy, or pool guy will probably make you an offer. Should be about $10/US for each large bud. If not, discretely ask your bartender, or ask another guest where they got their's. (Make friends with people who are leaving Jamaica a few days before you... they can't take it with them!)

You may even be offered some at the airport in MoBay. No! Remember men with weapons? But cabbies are often good sources, so you may even score on your way to Negril. Have a happy trip!
