I visited Dunghuang last October but didn't go to Lanzhou. What's it like?

I wouldn't call this city beautiful ! :) But it is a great city theres loads of mountains and a few nice parks and I can finnally see the trees the weather changes daily one day it might be snowing the next sunny and the next a sandstorm.... The beef noodles of course are great here!! And in the summer you can sit by the yellow river and have a few drink.... so yeah a cool city but not huge for the tourists... :P

I think there are laowai at the NWNU and the NWU Teachers College.
I get to Lanzhou every couple of months on business (just got back when I saw your post).

Where are you in the city? In Lanzhou or in Xigu?

This is Lance (I have other secret names but on this forum I am Lance). Allan said he met you and even brought Steve with him. If your Chinese language skills are not so good, ask Allan to share the Chinese-English all-purpose restaurant menu that I sent to him. I made it a few years ago for foreign teachers who want to get what they want in a restaurant even if they don't speak Chinese. Not every item on the menu is available in every restaurant, of course, but it is a helpful tool nonetheless.

Be careful about showing your personal email address on a forum. Some spider software can scan all Internet pages for the "@" sign and put you on a spam list.
