hi guys,i live in scotland,coming across to windsor in june on holiday,
looking for some tips on things to do. im a semi pro musician,so want to
checkout local music scene,also any great things to do or see in windsor or
detroit.where to go,where not to go,trying to avoid the usual tourist rip offs.

Try this website http://www.visitwindsor.com/main.htm I don't know when in June you will be in Windsor but there are a ton of things to do. As for Detroit, for a great place to eat you can head to Mexican Town or Greek Town. If you come during the last two weeks the Freedom Fest takes place and there are the Fireworks show.
As for the music scene, the majority of the bars host bands. So you shouldn't have any problems finding a band to listen too.
