We're going back to Gdansk in May, to stay with my wife's family. We will be driving to Prague to stay a few days. Anyone have a recommended route of travel? I've checked several websites, and they all recommend routing through Germany. This seems like an indirect route, although maybe it ends up being the fastest, since I'm guessing you can cut some time on the autobahn. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The fast, easiest and most safe way is NOT driving you car all the way but taking the train. If it is time you wish to save it means you are not planning on sightseeing during this route, for 2 days of strolling the country roads of Germany. If you come to Gdansk from home (US) it means you do not have your own car driven there like people from EU do.
The best advice I think I can suggest: If not flying there, Take the train. There is direct night train from Warsaw to Prague, leaving Wrsaw 21:20 (9:20 p.m.) ETA Prague 07:00 a.m.
