Negril Travel Forum

Hi there,

I scored a last minute deal to Jamaica and am leaving in less than 2 days! I am very excited to go, especially since this is going to be my first time in the country!

I am looking for cheap (as in around $30 or less) accomodation in Negril for a few nights. Basic, bare bones is alright, so long as security is good (I'm a female traveling alone) and the location isn't too far away from all the action. I hear near the beach is good, though parts of Norman Manley Boulevard could be sketchy in terms of safety...?

Anyone have any experiences with Negril Yoga Centre? I'm considering staying there and was wondering whether anyone had some experiences to share...

Please advise. Thanks so much in advance...I appreciate any and all the help I can get...

Right across the street from the Coral Seas beach resort is a safe and pretty nice cottages for rent $20 per nite. Lots of young foreign back-packer types. I stayed a week with my girl friend and two daughters. Two beds, mosquito nets, fans. Showers and toilets are few steps away. The owners name is Joseph. Very nice guy. There is a community kitchen and fridge and you can cook there. The beach across the street is fantastic. Look for a boat ancored there called Tranquility. Three brothers run it... Conroy, Charlie and Kingsley. Super nice guys. Very Safe. Business is slow - so you might get a good deal snorkling or whatever. Have fun. Im going down this weekend so maybe I'll see you. Ciao
