| Caye Caulker | simple, thatched roof cabana? Posted: Wed April 12, 2006 04:19 PM UTC
Hi -- I'm going back to caye caulker and looking to rent a simple, rustic, thatched roof cabana on the beach -- with a bit of privacy. I've looked at everything on the web. Does anyone know of someone who rents something like this privately? Or have other suggestions? Thanks!!

Hi Kim
We were there in Feb and I don't really remember anything quite like you describe. We stayed in a nice little place on the beach last year. It was called Beachside. I think it was around $65 a night. Bathroom, bedroom and one larger room. If you look at www.AlandSueJohnson.com and look under trip reports / Belize, you an see a bunch of pictures. The place I'm talking about is on the 2005 trip. www.CayeCaulkerRentals.com is who rents it out. We were happy with it in spite of no thatched roof. You might look at Shiley's too. I think there's a picture in our 2006 trip pictures. Small cabins with a nice sandy area out front.
